Ethical Trading Policy

Every effort is made to ensure that all the products we sell are:

People Friendly

They do not exploit people in their production and are not unfairly traded.  Many products are positively 'fair-traded' giving third-world producers a fair return and support for their communities. The vast majority of these fair trade products are certified as such by the Fairtrade Foundation and carry the Fairtrade Foundation Logo.

Animal Friendly

They do not involve cruelty in their production or testing. It is our intention that all products listed by us, whether food or non-food, are free from any animal ingredients (other than dairy and eggs). We do not sell cheese, but where it is used as an ingredient, we are assured by the manufacturer that the cheese is vegetarian.

Environment Friendly

They do not cause excessive damage to the environment.  All food products are certified as organically grown by an appropriate, legally recognized organization.

We try to operate without using paper, but where this is unavoidable we only use paper which is 100% recycled.

We will usually despatch your order either in it's original wholesale packaging, or in reclaimed packaging which we collect from a number of local businesses. This packaging would have been either sent to landfill or pulped for recycling. In either case, re-use of these materials is a better option for the environment. Please note, though, that the re-use of such packaging does not infer any recommendation of any goods or services advertised there upon. Very occassionally we are unable, at the time, to find packaging of the correct size and strength for your order and therefore have to pack your order in a 'new' box. All such new packaging is made from at least 80% recycled material and is fully recyclable. We would be grateful if you could re-use, or failing that, recycle all packaging materials you receive.
